Your social life could be causing you more harm than good.

Q. My co-worker has incredible skin – always bright and clear. She says she can tell when I’ve had a late night out. Is my social life hurting my skin?

A. Your co-worker is on to some good sense. She knows that less sleep, more alcohol, and being exposed to smoke are all harmful to your skin. Having dull, pale and dryer skin, even redness and unevenness can be the results. Start by making sure to drink water during the night, extra if you drink alcohol as it dehydrates you and then 2 glasses more before bedtime – dehydration is the number one culprit here. Power up your water with antioxidant vitamins such as a C supplement or with a squeeze of some lime, lemon or some orange juice.

If you’ve added some greasy foods to the evening, I suggest a handful of blueberries, two mouthfuls of fresh parsley and 300mg of omega three fats to speed up morning recovery. Green tea and Probiotics can also protect your digestive system and reduce ill effects of over indulging.
